What's Next On My Schedule?
Okay so I’m going to take my work break to write a quick update blog post. I have a ton of ideas for different series that I want to do right now…not to mention the stand-alone posts and reviews, AND the ongoing series I have now. For my sanity and clarity, I’m going to try and lay out what you can expect to see over the next few weeks.
On-Going Series:
The World-Building Series. Currently I need to write the Top 10 Fashionable Male Characters, the counterpart can be found here. I’m guessing I’ll have a couple of other posts for this.
The Decades Project. This is the most important one that I am working on right now. I’ve done the 2010s, 2000s, and 1990s, and hopefully will have the 1980s out in the next couple of weeks. I expect this project to cover most, if not all, of 2020.
Finished Series: The Corona Series is finished for now. As things have started to reopen and the news cycle has shifted there really isn’t a point to suggesting movies through the lens of a COVID era.
Upcoming Ideas:
Revisiting Nolan. This one is a pretty big one that will be popping up between now and the release of Tenet. I’m not a Nolan fan yet I want to see Tenet, so I am revisiting his work that I have previously dismissed. Tomorrow I’ll be writing about The Dark Knight Trilogy which I watched yesterday.
Mid-Budget Mystery. This started because I wanted to do a stand-alone post about the weird stock of films from the mid-80s to mid-90s that focused around cop, workplace, and domestic thrillers (usually starring Michael Douglas, Richard Gere, or Andy Garcia with a woman who had huge hair). I want to really investigate how all of those mid-budget, forgotten films got made (WITH A-LISTERS) and marketed yet lost in the box of movie fads. Seriously it’s like an epidemic. But then I noticed at the same time there was an onslaught of dramas, rom-coms, and comedies that were more or less in the same categories. How were these movies made? Why were these movies made? Are they truly lost and forgotten? That was a weird time for movies apparently. Expect the intro for that tonight after work/work-out/dinner. It’ll be fun.
That is where I stand now on the different blog series. However, there will continue to be one-off posts and reviews as well. Spike Lee has a new film coming out next week and I plan on reviewing it, as well as other VOD releases that we have before the 2020 Theater Season starts back up again (hopefully).
